| M en's Shed Radio is an initiative of several Sheds, to syndicate and pool our knowledge of amateur radio. Some men have good technical skills,
with soldering iron and pliers, whereas others, have not. They will, by contrast, have different skills instead. The system furthermore, encourages social interaction, among
Shed members in various locations, using the amateur radio system.
Membership is open to any Men's Shed or Women's Shed where there are one or more members interested in amateur radio. Membership is open to a Shed, not an individual. In order to
transmit though, a Shed must have at least one member with a current amateur licence.
This site takes the view that Men's Sheds are typically places where men who have retired from professional or trades careers, associate for mutual friendship and to maintain
skills, or ancilliary skills, of their earlier careers, or develop new skills in retirement. That ensures exercise of the body and the mind, that is so important in senior years. The Men's Shed Radio system supports all of this.
